Description
Apple Configurator makes it easy to deploy iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, and Apple TV devices in your school or business. Use Apple Configurator to quickly configure large numbers of devices connected to your Mac via USB with the settings, apps, and data you specify for your students, employees, or customers. Apple Configurator features a flexible, device-centric design that enables you to configure one or dozens of devices quickly and easily. Simply select a single device or many at once and perform an action. With Apple Configurator, you're able to update software, install apps and configuration profiles, rename and change wallpaper on devices, export device information and documents, and much more. You can also inspect any device to see details like serial number and hardware addresses, which apps and profiles are installed, and its console log. Apple Configurator integrates with device enrollment and purchasing in Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager to seamlessly distribute apps from the App Store. The all-new Prepare assistant makes it easy to supervise and configure a cart of iPads for the classroom or quickly enroll a large number of devices in your MDM server for ongoing management. The built-in configuration profile editor supports creating and editing profiles with the latest iOS settings. If you’re configuring devices in an environment where consistency is critical, Blueprints allow you to create a custom configuration for your devices that can be applied with one click. A Blueprint is a template device to which you add configuration profiles and apps and perform actions, just like you would to a connected physical device. Fully automate Apple Configurator and integrate its capabilities into your existing device management workflows using the included command-line tool, AppleScript scripting library, or Automator Actions. Support for iCloud Drive enables you to keep your configuration profiles and other settings consistent across multiple Configurator stations.

It appears that you can no longer manage AppleTV Gen 3 and below with Configurator 2.5 which means we can no longer add profiles to join the network.

Just spent 30 minutes rearranging everything on my iPhone X, saved changes, and nothing on the iPhone was changed. Went in to the Modify mode in Configurator again, and all apps are back where they started. Doesn’t work at all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Update: Apple released an update with "support for new devices" so I've tried it on my new iPhone 11 Pro Max. Same problem – it simply does not work. Can Apple do anything right anymore? Sheesh. Stop adding new emojis and producing TV shows and start making quality products again. Update: Another update to Apple Configurator, but modify home screen layout still doesn't work at all. And on iPad you can't even see all the app icons because the layout hasn't been updated to accommodate more apps. This app is a piece of garbage.

The latest version appears to have dropped support for Apple TV (3rd Generation). This is making it impossible for me to configure Apple TVs with updated network settings. I wish there was some way to download an older version of Apple Configurator.

To reiterate what others have stated here and in various other forums online, this app is currently broken and appears to have been for some time. Since iTunes is no longer available the only way to manage your homescreen on your iOS device is either through Apple Configurator 2 or on the device itself. Unfortunately it seems that this can only be done on the deivce itself now as this application doesn't do anything when you hit "Apply". I just spent an hour doing the same thing others have done to rearrange my homescreen and to clean it up using this applcation only to have wasted that time. The only option is to do this on the iOS device itself and because I have a lot of apps to clean up (10 pages worth) this will likely take 3 times as long to do instead of using a mouse and keyboard. Apple, I've loved you for so long and I am a developer of apps for your devices. But your quality control and attention to detail has noticeably gone down. I just purchased a new Mac Pro for an ...
