I was switching from meat to vegetarian and this app is a great way to keep track of recommendations for protein and calories and also stats are good for showing your base diet.. i.e 50% carbs, 20% protein etc.. I can add my work out which deducts calories from my total and I know how much I need to meet my recommend intake for each day :)

I like the layout of this and the features, the foods within the actual database seem a lot more accurate than MFP, but the database of packaged foods seems lacking. Every day I travel about with work and pick things up from the local supermarket, quite often the app does not recognise the food barcode so you have to input it manually and take a picture of the packet. Unfortunately I don’t always have time to do this. (Note I am in the UK.) I hope over time the database expands and I may indeed come back to this app again in the future, but for now ease of use and a bigger database means I prefer MFP.

Wow - I’m doing a tightly calorie restricted diet, but want to make sure I get a good balance of all macros. This app is great! — reasonably intuitive interface with no nonsense GUI — very exact portion sizing available (you don’t have to just accept defaults) — easy to input custom foods — simple weight tracker — no intrusive ads (yet, at least - maybe I’m reviewing too early?) (I happily pay a small amount for simple ad-free versions, but appreciate this developer’s approach) Although an iPhone app, I use it at 2x sizing on an iPad and love it. I expect that detailed inputs, such as all the macros on a custom food, might be a bit fiddly on iPhone alone, but would still be worthwhile.

Works well but often doubles your food entry when updating “Apple Health” app and that requires editing It would be a lot better if you could lock the food measurements to one unit..say grams rather than constantly having to change from cups oz slices and so on
