This app, which was always clunkier and slower than Safer Illinois, has now entirely replaced it. First of all, it is broken. The screen shows only “initialization failed” for every member of my family. Secondly, it conveys less information than Safer Illinois. There is no way to see either your latest test, or your vaccination status. Safer Illinois allowed you to see both, which was useful, both for showing vaccination status, and if an activity or event asked for a recent test. Showing test results, and notifying when a test came in, also meant that one did not have to engage with the clunky and slow MyMcKinley interface, which requires repeated authentication steps already completed in the app. TL;DR: Give me Safer Illinois back or make an app that works, would rate 0 stars if possible because it’s literally unusable.

There is a glitch within the opening pages of the Apple App which does not allow you to continue into the information portion. The page appears as though it is fluttering and then causes the App to freeze up. The only way to clear it, is to swipe out and reopen. Even tried deleting and re-downloading, with no success. The same error continues at the same page each time. Please advise when this is rectified, as the UIUC staff, is directing via ZOOM calls, for NEW families/parents to utilize it for information etc. Thank you!

This app is the perfect metaphor for the UIUC administration. Start with a workable solution to a problem affecting the entire campus: a simple app that helps control access to buildings during COVID-19. Then let everyone on campus add their pet project to the app and soon that set of random pet projects and project managers push the entire rationale for the app aside. So, now everyone on campus is using an app that has been redesigned to focus on promoting the athletic department and every other random activity on campus - COVID-19 and building access be damned. Great work! /s

Finally, I feel I have control of how much of my privacy I can trade off against useful functionality. If I change my mind they remove data based on my new privacy level. Any time I choose, they will remove all my personal data. This is a breakthrough way of dealing with my personal information. Thanks Illinois!
