Description
GPS Data delivers all of the current location information available from your device, including GPS and compass data. On iOS, GPS Data displays the following information, in an easy-to-use list format: • Current time • Time since last update • Accuracy of readings • Latitude & Longitude coordinates (decimal degrees and degrees/minutes/seconds) • Elevation (meters and feet above sea level) • Speed (meters and feet per second, kilometers and miles per hour, and knots) • Device direction (degrees true and degrees magnetic) • Direction of device movement (degrees true) • Local air pressure (hectopascals and inches of mercury) • Vertical speed (meters per second and feet per minute) Additionally, on iOS, any altitude, speed, or direction value can be expanded into a larger, full screen display, useful for monitoring different values when you're on the move. Tap the clock to switch between local time and UTC, and tap the coordinates to swap between different units. GPS Data also allows you to easily generate a textual representation of your precise location, to share via Messages, Mail, and other compatible Apps. On watchOS, GPS Data can display: • Elevation (meters and feet above sea level) • Speed (meters and feet per second, kilometers and miles per hour, and knots) • Direction of device movement (degrees true) • Latitude & Longitude coordinates (decimal degrees and degrees/minutes/seconds) Apple Watch uses the paired iPhone nearby for GPS information. Apple Watch with built-in GPS will use the built-in GPS when the paired iPhone is unavailable. GPS Data only requests to use Location Services while in use, making it perfect for those with privacy or battery consumption concerns. On iOS devices without GPS capabilities, including iPad Wi-Fi models and iPod Touch, location data will be calculated from nearby Wi-Fi hotspots, which will be less accurate than GPS. On iOS devices without onboard barometer, local air pressure will be unavailable, and vertical speed will be calculated from GPS location instead of pressure change.
