Recently, I have tried to send a message to a friend but it’s stuck loading and they have not yet received the message. I was thinking it was because of my internet, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem. I can’t voice call or FaceTime them either, and we don’t know what seems to be the problem. Not only MEGA won’t deliver my messages, but my friend has not been able to load the app. I’m very lost, I have tried to delete the app but when I finally loaded back in, the only thing I get when I try to message them is: “MEGA protects your chat with end-to-end (user controlled) encryption providing essential safety assurances: Confidentially. Only the author and intended recipients are able to decipher and read the content. Authenticity. The system ensures that the data received is from the sender displayed, and its content has not been manipulate…” I’m very confused, and i have tried to delete it and reinstall the app once again, but nothing has changed. I will post an app review as well...

I installed MEGA at the behest of a friend so we could share some files around with relative ease. At least that’s what we thought it would be, easy. The app feels overly hostile to a mobile user such as myself. Everywhere you click you have invasive pop ups about upgrading your package appearing, even when you’ve got a premium plan in place. The most egregious thing however is the fact that it essentially ransoms your files. I uploaded a simple 30 second video of my dog and attempted to save, download and transfer said video. Each time I was hit with a pop up about hitting my “transfer quota”, which wasn’t mentioned anywhere clearly that I could find. What’s more, even trying to view said clip I would yet again get a pop up demanding I upgrade to premium; all to just view the file I’d uploaded. Don’t waste your time with this app, you’d be much better using a service like Dropbox or GDrive.

I've been using Mega on my desktop for years, and when I was away from home I saw they had an app. I downloaded it immediately and started a download. When it finished, I opened the files app, expecting my files to be there. Nope. It took me a good half hour to finally figure out how to save an .mp4 file quickly. After you figure it out, though, it's pretty decent. I still vastly prefer the desktop version, but the app works in a pinch.

Hi! So I’m writing a complaint about this because it’s happening to me and my friend. So a few hours ago I was on MEGA and I was going to text my friend. I sent them some texts but they weren’t sending at all. So I tried to reopen the app and still the messages weren’t sending and now all of my previous chats were on loading. I tried everything to fix it, redownloading the app, logging out and back in, restarting my phone etc. etc. yet it’s still won’t work. I texted the friend on a different app that none of my messages were getting through and they said the same thing was happening to them too. Please fix this because I mainly use MEGA to text people. Thank you. Edit: My friend sent an email and now it’s fixed!
